Most people would think “SALMON” – but salmon tends to have a stronger flavor. Mild fish, like cod, tilapia, halibut and flounder are good to start with when you’re starting out. Icelandic cod is known to be sweet and very mild, but remember, everyone’s different – so try them all!
I’d tell you it’s a mollusk, but I doubt that’s what you want to hear. The 2 most popular types are bay and sea scallops. We fish-lovers like them for the delicate, sweet meat inside the shell. Scallops can be broiled, grilled or pan seared.
Fatty fish – like salmon – can stay in your freezer for 2 to 3 months.
Leaner fish – like cod or flounder can last up to 6 months.
Spanish Mackerel, eel, farmed Atlantic salmon, wild freshwater catfish, flounder…in that order 🙂
